Gentoo 1.4 и ptys

Поставил ядро 2.6.3 и при запуске терминалов в иксах терминалы не запускаются и в логах пиштся:
xterm: Error 32, errno 2: No file or directory
Reason: get_pty: not enough ptys
Login: Error 32, errno 2: No file or directory
Reason: get_pty: not enough ptys
После запуска mc и нажатия ctrl+O должно появиться приглашение в к/с, вместо этого:
subshell: couldn't open master side of pty
pty_open_master: No such file or directory
В ядро включил:
Device Drivers -> Character devices -> Unix98 PTY Support
File systems -> Pseudo filesystems -> /dev/pts filesystem.
Непомогло. Какое здесь может быть решение?

Должно помочь что-то вроде такого
mount none -t devpts /dev/pts. А вообще в ядро можно включить опцию об автоматическом монтировании pts
