For those of us running our own mail systems on dinky lil residential broadband connections, are we going to have any trouble mailing them in?
I don't know if the gentoo.org mail systems block stuff from dynamic addresses and the like; or if they do things like sender verification/callbacks that we should be aware of.
My ISP doesn't block inbound 25, nor outbound 25. But if if gentoo checks pbl@spamhaus or dul@sorbs, I'll get blocked.
If this is going to be a problem, might be worth mentioning, even if that mention is a link to this thread on the screenshots page. If my stuff from home is going to get blocked I'll use gmail or some such - just rather not |

I would like to suggest a modification to the entry rules. It says that the resolution must be between 1024x768 and 1920x1200. Though I understand the need for a limit such as this one, I think it would be great to open it up to 1024x600 for the typical netbook resolution. Just a thought. _________________ “Truth, like infinity, is to be forever approached but never reached.” --Jean Ayres (1972)

I happen to really like my minimalistic netbook desktop, so I will be submitting one from it. _________________ “Truth, like infinity, is to be forever approached but never reached.” --Jean Ayres (1972)

Wow, there are some REALLY nice looking shots in there. The best thing about this contest is that one can really see the versatility of Gentoo. _________________ “Truth, like infinity, is to be forever approached but never reached.” --Jean Ayres (1972)

I'm mainly just fond of my wallpaper. Stared at it for a good while today at work (use the same one there), wishing I was on vacation. _________________ Lost configuring your system?

But how can you choose the best ones because they are ALL so amazing?
I suspect it's not going to be easy to do. |

Glad I'm not one of the judges. _________________ “Truth, like infinity, is to be forever approached but never reached.” --Jean Ayres (1972)

I see there is only one entry per contestant. Can we re-submit a newer/better version after we have submitted an entry?

I don't understand the message is still in my outgoing box.
Do you have any limits for attachement on your email ?
I am going to try to resend the email with a link to the image rather than an attachement. |

Long time Gentoo user, first time poster here. I'd have to agree that judging this is going to be difficult. Some nice entries for sure..
Probably see more of me around here. Been pushing linux around the web for awhile now, but it's starting to get old helping people get set up, then watching them give up or not pay it forward after they get what they need..
BTW.. Happy B-day Gentoo |
