It will download stuff, yes. That is the whole precedence behind the DC protocol.
Make sure to have GCC v3.4.3 installed and set as your default compiler, download the ebuild, and fire away.
If you have problems using linuxdc++, there are always DCGUI-qt, valknut, and DC++ via wine to consider. |

lennki/bendagr8: Please fix your ebuilds because some of the text is just plain spaces instead of tabs, so if you try and emerge the ebuild errors occur. If you have vim the errors are clearly noted in the file when vim is open in a color enabled term. |

My current items in the queue died in the new cvs version . It seems like the transferbar is more stable this time though. _________________ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cell_(microprocessor) |

The 'Search' function doesn't work anymore with the latest cvs. I remember it was a port issue, but I can't remember exactly. _________________ gentoo.ro |

Works fine for me, so it must be a port issue or similar.
On a side note, download queue fix is now included in CVS so you don't have to use s4kk3's patch anymore. |

Try passive as opposed to active and see if that works.
Also, I figured out why files aren't being transferred from the Incomplete folder to the target folder. LinuxDC++ doesn't tranverse symlinks, even though it should; maybe someone should fix that.
Finally, I'll try adding the patches to the ebuild I have posted sometime so then they'll be effective in future LinuxDC++ releases. |

Haha... forgot that I changed the ebuild and did not put it back in its former state... my bad... .
I put the patches in a tar/gzip file because I don't have web-rsync setup and this isn't in the main portage tree, so unless you feel like providing me with the basis for an rsync setup, the patches being sent via tar.gz are the best option.
Try now... and make sure to run *ebuild* [...] digest again.

Great client so far specially the latest cvs, with the queue fix. Keep up the good work. some things that seems to be malfunctioning though...
1. Everytime you switch to the queue view all the entries expand.
2. Some hub pm messages result blank.
3. GUI locks up after a while (maybe this is fixed in this cvs?)
4. Finnished download manager? There is an entry in advanced settings but I don't see it anywhere. _________________ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cell_(microprocessor) |

I am sorry, but I wasnt able to get ebuild to work. I dont know exactly where to put the patches, but I tried several location, without luck. Maybe I am doing digest wrong way. Everytime I am using "ebuild [ ] digest" isnsteed yours "emerge [ ] digest".
So I went back to ebuild which was downloaded maybe on 20.5.2005. Yes its without patches, but works great. Thanks for it.
And can somebody explain, how is it with patches? Paskharen is back and is working hard, look on changelog . I subsribed to mailing-list and can see, that lots of patches people send there are applyied to cvs after hours, these days. So I dont know if about patches in ebuild they know.
Also is it good, if patch is commited in cvs, then patch it again by ebuild? Becouse I think now, that its clear for me to have ebuild without patches and reemerge it again after some changes are done in cvs. On the other side, ebuild with patches must be updated very ofter, becouse some of them are done in cvs - Am I right?
I am sorry, my english is poor and consider myself as newbie, so dont understand how all it works, but will be happy if somebody can explain more.
Thanks |

Hey,
Long time since I said something here, sorry
Anyway, I'm on my way back with the development since I'll fix my server tonight (I have to use a server to run linuxdcpp, since I only got a Mac these days).
Regarding the ebuild: It would be nice if you could remove the patches. It's as radfoj said, we're pretty good at applying patches as soon as we've confirmed that they're working with the expected results.
So imo the patches would only make more harm the good since it downloads the current version from the cvs, than apply the patches, which probably is made for another cvs-version.
Patches + ebuild are only acceptable with releases that doesn't update every now and then, imo atleast.
Feel free to add patches to a ebuild when we release a "stable" version at our projectpage (as long as you use that release, of course).
That's it for now.
Feel free to join us @ #linuxdc++ / irc.freenode.net if you've got some questions that needs answers quickly _________________ Developer for DC++ for Linux |

Meh, maybe I'll add that as an extra feature then with the ebuild once I get to that point. I'll make it emerge flag or something for the patches. I don't see why several of the features aren't enabled though since they do seem somewhat rudimentary and were made available by sk433, but then again I don't make the dev choices... |

I have problems sometimes when i use the search function. Sometimes I get results and sometimes not, even when I know there are matches.
Does anyone else have this problem or is it only me? |
