I've made a new wallpaper with my favorate distro's logo
This is a 640x480 preview:
[img:d4df726ea0]http://mksoft.co.il/gentoo/gentoo640x480.jpg[/img:d4df726ea0]
You can also find 1024x768, 1152x864 and 1280x1024 versions.
What do you think about it _________________ There's someone in my head but it's not me - Pink Floyd |

Pretty good... how did you make it? Only one observation... the leg of the 'g' looks
a little out of proportion. Just a tad too long.
EDIT: Split off some discussions: _________________ I can saw a woman in two, but you won't want to look in the box when I'm through.
For my next trick, I'll need a volunteer.

You should know, as you're using it as your avatar I'll fix it and post updates here (hopefully tomorrow I need some sleep now, it's 4am). _________________ There's someone in my head but it's not me - Pink Floyd |

OK, fixed the proportion if the leg, it is shorter now.
The preview image and the links from the 1st post on this thread point to the fixed version. _________________ There's someone in my head but it's not me - Pink Floyd |

I'm glad you like it
I'm in the process of making another one.
Question to moderators/gentoo.org site admins:
Where can we annonce new Gentoo graphics (is Desktop forum ok)
It'll be cool if some section in graphics at gentoo.org will be dedicated to wallpapers and other graphics uploads (or placed there by the admins). _________________ There's someone in my head but it's not me - Pink Floyd |

Thanks for the 1600x1200 version, looks great! I actually run it (with KDE 3.0.1) with Hue Shift Blending (Background settings->Advanced->Blending)....looks nice with a spash of green...but otherwise it rocks... |

Looks great, and I think the emerge output overlay is so subtle no one else noticed it. Nice work. _________________ I don't believe in witty sigs. |

Good eyes. I was focusing on the 'g'. _________________ I can saw a woman in two, but you won't want to look in the box when I'm through.

Wow, you're right! that was absolutely invisible with my standard monitor setting! Turning up the brightness revealed it! |

So you've noticed, cool
I wanted it to be subtle as IMHO text on wallpapers make them unusable and hard on the eyes but wanted to include the essence of Gentoo in the wallpaper.
I'm glad someone spotted it _________________ There's someone in my head but it's not me - Pink Floyd |

Warning: Me being touchy
What To start with, I'm way far behind my childhood days (started my 4th decade).
The wallpaper (this and the other one submitted at the forums) are made by myself (including reverse engineering the logo with bezier curves)

Yes, the ISP is heaving some problems there
I wish for some place (gentoo.org ) those images could be uploaded to. _________________ There's someone in my head but it's not me - Pink Floyd |
