Hi,
I' ve got a problem when i try to emerge lm-sensors. During compilation an error appeared :
| Quote: | make: *** [kernel/busses/i2c-amd8111.o] Error 1
make: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs....
/lib/modules/2.4.20-gromit1/build/include/asm/fixmap.h: In function `virt_to_fix':
/lib/modules/2.4.20-gromit1/build/include/asm/fixmap.h:134: warning: asm operand 1 probably doesn't match constraints
!!! ERROR: sys-apps/lm-sensors-2.7.0-r1 failed.
!!! Function src_compile, Line 45, Exitcode 2
!!! lm_sensors requires the source of a compatible kernel\nversion installed in /usr/src/linux and >=i2c-2.7.0 support built as a modules this support is included in gentoo-sources as of 2.4.20-r1
|
The kernel in /usr/src/linux are the gentoo-sources 2.4.20-r5 and i2c are compiled in module not builtin ...
What is the solution ? |

| maybe try doing insmod for your i2c module before you start compiling? |

i2c-core 15848 0 [tvmixer tuner tvaudio bttv i2c-algo-bit] |
Peharp is it an another module ? |

Ok. This new version of lm-sensors requires i2c above that which is in the kernel. Hence compile i2c as modules in your kernel and put them in your modules.autoload. Then emerge i2c. Then lm-sensors-2.7.0-r1 will emerge perfectly. It would also work if you didn't compile i2c as modules into your kernel at all I suppose, but I already had them in there anyway and I wasn't sure about possible dependancies so I left them in.

Thanks, it' s working perfectly
I don' t search to emerge i2c because in the error message it says that i2c is included in gentoo-sources-r1 |

| I think you needed i2c because it has other stuff like i2c-viapro for example which isn't in the kernel and it isn't in lm-sensors either... |
