Well, i have no sound in ZSNES, i had for strangely i do nto have any more. I also read the threads of this forum about the topic -no sound in ZSNES-, i loaded de modules, SDL, OSS, etc. I have ALSA installed in the last version. And i can hear two sounds -of differen programs- at the same time (this, because in the post was somelike important-
By the way, in WINDOWs i have sound, but when in GENTOO i use WINE to emulate ZSNES -the ZSNES that i have in Windows- it works, but without sound-

And of course, my ZSNES that i have in GENTOO works but without sound.

Please, any suggestion??

Greetings

Code: Select all

# emerge zsnes
There's a Linux-native version of ZSNES. It will work better than a WINE-emulated Micro$haft Winblows version.

AAAANNNNNNDDD.... It will be able to utilize your ALSA stuff effectively.

Now, I'm off to play Dragon Quest VI. ^^

Do a revdep-rebuild.

Check the sound config in ZSNES.

Hullo:

Well i did it, and i also played the configuration in zsnes.

In fact, some games have sound, like "mystical ninja"......but any of Squaresoft or Enix have no sound -a conspiracy!?-...........and it is quite odd................when i play "Mystical Ninja2 everything is perfect. When i play other games the sound does not work (and i tried to manipulate the sound configuration also while playings this games)

Thank you

If some have sound and some don't, then it's a high probability that the ROMs you have are, for some strange reason, broken...

Well, the roms are fine, because i can play the games in Windows -using ZSNES-

Truly, i do not know what´s the reason. I tried t manipulate the configuration in ZSNES, doins de ALSA thing, the "dmix" thing, etc

But bloody hell, i will play in windows. This sound problems in Linux are very common in fact, and there are 29040347 "solutions".......if a "developer" read this, please do an auto-configurate ZSNES or something.

Never the less, thank you all for your time and help. Thank you.

Your soundcard is probably already busy because you have a sound daemon active or playing music or something.

Well he said that sound works with some ROMS, so that doesn't seem to be the reason.

Some of the sound daemons have timeouts, such as arts where if it doesn't play any sound for a minute, it releases the soundcard. I know personally that all those games have sound and all of them play perfectly fine in all versions of ZSNES released in the past year.
