questions about running 32bit gentoo on AMD64

ok i'm guessing this is somewhere but i couldn't find it so here goes...

I want to run 32bit gentoo on my AMD 64 laptop (better chance of getting the broadcom wireless card working)
so
what stage do i pick? (x86 or athlon-xp) and what chost do i use?

Both will work, just take the chost that's in the stage tar.
