GNOME Wireless Network Manager

Post by matt95110 » Tue Nov 01, 2005 12:15 am

I'm curious if there are any wifi managers that exist for GNOME that I can find in portage? I poked around a bit in the forums and got some information on the lack of the network-admin from gnome-system-tools, and I created an overlay for it to find out the problem myself. Basically its back to the drawing board on this one.

Can anyone recommend me a wifi manager for GNOME?

You could try NetworkManager. I think there's an overlay for it on Gentopia. I'm not certain however...

NetworkManager is completely useless. I couldn't get it to work at all, and when I did, there was no configuration utility at all.

I gave it a try, but I couldn't get it working. I really don't like messing around with things like custom ebuilds.

Wifi-radar just went into portage. It shows available networks and will make connection.
