|
|
I really don't know what this means, and I'm not familiar really with ssh-agent. I know that keychain manages ssh-agent, and should allow me to enter 1 password when I start it, and then logon to the numerous shells I use during my day passwordless (yay... that sounds great)
So, I followed the guide on setting up keychain.
I built myself a nice little dsa key, and put the following in my ~/.bash_profile
| Code: |
keychain id_dsa
. ~/.keychain/$HOSTNAME-sh
|
when I start a terminal session now I get the following output
| Code: |
* Warning: SSH_AUTH_SOCK in environment is invalid; ignoring it
* Found existing ssh-agent (17198)
* Known ssh key: /home/<user_name>/.ssh/id_dsa
|
and when I go to logon to a sever... I can ssh in (asks for password), I then exit... come back and ssh in again (asks for password again). Am I confused about the purpose or way in which keychain functions? Is the warning above important? If so... is there a good place to look to fix it?
I did a quick search of "keychain SSH_AUTH_SOCK" here but got a bunch of ssh-agent threads that suggest using keychain (which clearly doesn't help me in this case :P )
Thanks,
Anders |

Just to let you know I have the same error message, but only if I start from under X. On consoles it works without an error.
