|
|
Hi;
My fluxbox environment is running smooth, screen at http://66.27.21.206/home/snapshot6.jpg
Thanks to autobot for fast responses with config issues.
Now my question: Does anybody know of Clipboard apps that work well with fluxbox? Right now I'm using KDE's Klipper in the slit, which runs fine but I 'd like to have a clipboard that does not launch kdeinit as Klipper does.
I remember vaguely that there's an x based clipboard but for the life of it I can't remember the name. Also, the are Gnome/Gtk based clipboards, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Just outta curiousity, how did you get kde support built in via portage? I just emerge'd fluxbox on the weekend, and have access to all my gnome apps, but can't get the kde apps to run. looked at the FAQ, and they have instructions on added kde support when compiling, but *newbie question warning* how am i passing on the options via emerge? _________________ Toast

Ok, if you have "KDE" in your use variables you should be set to go- Fluxbox will then compile with "--enable-KDE" and you should be able to use KDE apps. |

Well you can find a simple wm applet here:
http://linux.nawebu.cz/wmcliphist/wmcliphist-0.2.tar.gz
And this will get you going:
Code: |
tar xvzf wmcliphist-0.2.tar.gz
cd wmcliphist-0.2
make
su
mv wmcliphist /usr/bin
wmcliphist &

Oh I almost forgot you can change that ugly icon.xpm to something a little more attractive before you compile _________________ This message self destructed a long time ago. |

Super, thanks again autobot:) I'm happy to say that fluxbox is well worth the effort to configure it correctly and I don't think I'll ever go back to anything else:) |

so if i've already emerge'd fluxbox, will i have to redo it with the KDE in my use variable?
EDIT: Not that it's a long emerge. I seem to recall fluxbox being pretty quick to compile. _________________ Toast

Yes - you'll have to re-emerge fluxbox, using the new settings. |
