PostPosted: Fri Oct 15, 2004 6:39 am    Post subject: emerge fails for gcalctool Reply with quote

I'm trying to emerge gnome 2.8 but my emerge hangs on gcalctool. I unmerged the previous version, but cant get this little guy to emerge. I only found one other person with this problem, and they couldn't figure out exactly how they fixed it. How do fix it? Or is it possible to bypass it and continue with the gnome 2.8 install?

Code:
Workstation-1 ~ # ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge gnome-extra/gcalctool
Calculating dependencies ...done!
>>> emerge (1 of 1) gnome-extra/gcalctool-4.4.19 to /
>>> md5 src_uri ;-) gcalctool-4.4.19.tar.bz2

i have the same problem here, seems some dependencies mixed up during update ...

i'm trying to upgrade libgnomeui first right now, see if it helps (as the error occurs in that lib)

I have a similar problem now.

gnome-base/gnome-2.8.0-r1 [2.4.2]

It also hangs at gcalctool. But libgnomeui is allready updated and the message looks like this

heh stupid me :)

I emerged "atk" first manually. Then it just gives a few warnings and goes on when compiling "gtk.c". Maybe there is another deps problem ?

However the gcalctool author should crosscheck that part. The warnings look not like a gentoo problem.
