It took me a while to figure out how to compile this(on kde 3.1rc2...so I'll post the precedure here in case anyone else is interested :D

http://www.kdevelop.org/index.html?filename=branches_compiling.html

^instructions to getting it from cvs...

After doing that you may get errors with xml...the problem exists in how kdevelop references the .dtd All you have to do is
Code:

asdf@moo asdf $ locate kdex
/usr/kde/3.1/share/apps/ksgmltools2/customization/dtd/kdex.dtd

cd /home/asdf/kde3src/kdevelop/doc/<dir> <-obviously the dir which the dtd refuses to work

nano index.docbook

change dtd/kdex.dtd to /usr/kde/3.1/share/apps/ksgmltools2/customization/dtd/kdex.dtd
^ in my case

And there's an ebuild in portage for it as well... only comment the kdelibs-apidocs part out since that's not avail.

Hey smegol, this fix worked for me, building kdevelop 3.2 beta with kde 3.2 Thanks for the explaination, I would have never figured it out.

What I did was emerge, kdevelop and then after the configure was done, edited index.docbook (there were three of them) to point to my 3.2 directory.

Same idea different method.

Thanks for posting your solution
