|
|
I love manual gearboxes. The only game I've seen so far with actual clutch support is Racer. It's pretty good, but often buggy. TORCS is impossible to drive (freaky sensitivity - even the docs say it's hard for a human to drive in the game, and that it's intended for bots). Any other suggestions?
BTW: I'm not talking about games which let you select the gear. There are zillions of those. I'm talking true clutching, engine-shutoff, roll-back if you're too slow, wheelspin if you're too fast clutching. _________________ Tactless

You could try Grand Prix Legends (from Sierra, I think).... It's an old game by today's standards but it still plays exceptionally well... I've had it knocking about on my hard drive off and on since it was released. And it runs on linux _________________ "Pokey, are you drunk on love?"

Viper Racing had a clutch, real analog too. But that game is/was for windows, and it does not run on Win2000/XP for some odd reason, perhaps wine handles it better. |

Torcs isn't that hard to drive? You just can't go around corners insanely fast because, surprise surprise, you spin! _________________ Want Free games?

Yeah, I figured out how to drive in torcs... the spinning there is mayhem. Can't seem to powerslide right (which is no problem for me with most car sims). But still - it has a very simplistic clutch mechanism. I don't even know what it's for... shifting works just as well without it, and you can't get any proper wheelspin with it (nor with neutral)...
Will try Grand Prix Legends. _________________ Tactless
