I tried with cedega , installation works , but cant run the game
so hours after , i decided to download XP (64)
i installed windows .. but
I cant make work my cdreader under windows - no 64 drivers :-
i cant write on NTFS from linux (where doom is installed)
and i cant read ext3 from windows (:
i tried adding vfat to my kernek
make a partition w95
using mtools
but result is i cant copy doom from linux to windows
or i cant read my linux partition
is there a partition type compatible between 2 systems ?

It is possible to get ext2/3 to work natively in Windows. This is the page with the information you need. However, I'm not sure whether it will work in 64 bit Windows. Also, 32 bit games in 64 bit Windows are run under emulation, so the performance will suffer. _________________ - I

Run 32-bit Win XP pro as I do. Doom runs fine _________________ "I'd rather have a President who does it to a woman than one who does it to his country" -- Shirley Maclaine

You could always do like I am and wait patiently for the linux binaries, thats assuming you actually bought the game and don't need a cracked version. I don't say this to troll, but those of us that preordered, our copies just shiped today (8/3) and most stores don't sell doom3 for another couple of days. Besides, I am betting that the linux binaries will come out with or before the demo is released, which I bet good money will be out before augest 7. _________________ KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!!!!! |

Yes, I bought the game. Why wait if I could play it now? What if it turns out to be weeks before the linux binaries get released? |

It looks as if we'll have them before the weekend. Even if Linux binaries took a month, why would you install Windows just for a game? _________________ Think about your breathing.

doom just is so god, makes me regret I'm a linux user, still, the 'no' for windows still holds strong, it still sucks that much. |

What is your source? I'm trying to google about and find anything sort of official -- help me out here. I'm not getting a "out soon" feel. Last thing I heard officially was "when it's ready" - which isn't soon in my opinion. Also lets try to refrain from saying childish things like "you people suck" OK? Anyone tempted to make a personal attack like this needs to read the forum guidelines again.
