default 0
timeout 30
splashimage=(hd0,0)/grub/splash.xpm.gz

title=Gentoo Linux 2.4.26-r6
root (hd0,0)
kernel /kernel-2.4.26-gentoo-r6 root=/dev/ram0 init=/linuxrc ramdisk=8192 real_root=/dev/hda3
initrd /initrd-2.4.26-gentoo-r6

I used genkernel and this is causing trouble when starting up grub.

Anyone?

What's the actual error? It's hard to help you without that! :wink:

Ah, that's the problem. An Error 15 means that grub cannot find your kernel. Make sure you've spelt it exactly the same as the name of the kernel in /boot. Try using tab completion from within grub to find the name:

When you get to the grub boot screen, select the entry you want to boot and press e. Then select the line with the kernel on it and press e again. Delete the name of your kernel and press tab to see a list of possible kernels, and put the right one in. Then press enter a few times, and then press b to boot. The change won't be permanent - you'll have to edit your grub.conf in order to contain the right name after booting.

I haven't looked far into it, but the sticky at the top of this forum: "The Grub Error Collection", would probably shown you the cause of this problem...
