I tried to split a 1.4G large .avi with the following command in two parts à 700MB:
avisplit -i 2_Glorreiche.avi -s 700 -o 2_Glorreiche

the first chunk was created corectly, but the second chunk was only 325 MB!
I tried with various avis and always the same result!

Thanks 4 help,
garfiels

PS: The Avis were created with mencoder

Hi,
are there no error-messages or something?
I assume that there is something missing of the video after splitting? Or were3 parts created?
[edit]: hmm, just wondering: you cannot split 1,4GB into two 700MB chunks because 700MB*2!=1,4GB but only 1,37GB...

You encoded the file with mencoder? I have the same problem. It's at the 1GB boundary.

With pre3 encoded files it works, but anything after that, I can't encode anything over 1GB.

Try to play the original file with
> mplayer -ss 01:50:00
or whatever the timecode at the end of the file is. I bet it's all corrupted.

Are you on amd64 platform by any chance?

I meant that it seems to encode everything. It just isn't playable.

When I try to play the movie with
mplayer -ss 01:50:00

it starts at the beginning of the movie and i can't use the navigation keys, when i try

mplayer -ss 00:05:00

it starts after five minutes and i can use the navigation keys, allthough i don't know what that means or how this is related to the splitting problem.

PS: I use athlonXP
