|
| Code: | peter-computer root # emerge -av gvim
These are the packages that I would merge, in order:
Calculating dependencies ...done!
[ebuild U ] app-editors/vim-core-6.3 [6.2-r7] -acl -debug +ncurses +nls -(selinux) 6,721 kB
[ebuild N ] app-editors/gvim-6.3 -acl -cscope -debug +gnome +gpm +gtk +gtk2 +motif +ncurses +nls +perl +python +ruby -(selinux) 4,650 kB
Total size of downloads: 11,371 kB
Do you want me to merge these packages? [Yes/No] yes

!!! Couldn't download vim-6.3.tar.bz2. Aborting.
peter-computer root # | I have ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" in my /etc/make.conf, and I think this is at least a little strange. Even vim.org doesn't have the source tarball.
I just emerge'd sync about 10 minutes ago, (same problem before and efter emerge'ing sync) so that shouldn't be it.... _________________ ~~ Peter: Programmer, Mathematician, STEM & Free Software Advocate, Enlightened Agent, Transhumanist, Fedora contributor

| Download the file manually ( http://www.math.technion.ac.il/pub/vim/unix/vim-6.3.tar.bz2 for example) and toss it in /usr/portage/distfiles. In the future, you can just search google for the file you're looking for (vim-6.3.tar.bz2) and find a mirror that works. |

Okay. Thanx. That seems to have worked: it is currently compiling. But why wouldn't it be on the rsync mirrors yet? I thought they're supposed to sync like every half-hour or something... _________________ ~~ Peter: Programmer, Mathematician, STEM & Free Software Advocate, Enlightened Agent, Transhumanist, Fedora contributor
