I'm getting the following error when signing a certificate request using /etc/ssl/misc/CA.pl -sign:
| Code: | carrera misc # ./CA.pl -sign
Using configuration from /etc/ssl/openssl.cnf
11094:error:0E06D06C:configuration file routines:NCONF_get_string:no value:conf_lib.c:329:group=CA_default name=unique_subject
Enter pass phrase for ./demoCA/private/cakey.pem: |
The process completes successfully. I enter | Code: | | openssl x509 -in newcert.pem -out /etc/stunnel/stunnel.pem | and I'm ready to go. I call stunnel and get the following:
| Code: | 2004.06.05 20:46:04 LOG5[11074:16384]: stunnel 4.04 on i686-pc-linux-gnu PTHREAD+LIBWRAP with OpenSSL 0.9.7d 17 Mar 2004

Almighty Gentoo forum, please answer this riddle: what's wrong and how can I fix it?
(I've already checked my use flags and recompiled both openssl and stunnel). |

| You mean, is it fixed? No. I double-checked my use flags, used revdep-rebuild, and checked the respective product web sites for help. It seems no one have ever seen that error before. I just now checked those commands again, thinking some new ebuild since then has fixed things, but the error still exists. |

I think I found out something: is there a /etc/ssl/demoCA/index.txt.attr file on your system?
if so, what does it say? |

I have /etc/ssl/misc/demoCA/index.txt.attr, and all it says is: | Code: | | unique_subject = yes |
What does that mean to you? |

to ME it means nothing
try to delete that file (or, to be safer, rename it first)
with me, the error was gone then |
