Hey all,

I'm trying to install gentoo for a 2.6 kernel with nptl support.

I have changed ACCEPT in my make.conf to '~x86' and edited linux-headers-2.6.5 to ACCEPT x86.

I'm using 2004.1 stage1 tar.

After running bootstrap-2.6.sh, it fails when compiling glibc-2.3.3_pre20040420, something with a nesting problem: the include file: /mnt/gentoo/var/tmp/portage/glibc-2.3.3_pre20040420/work/glibc-2.3.2/
buildhere/sys/syscall.h
contains "#include <sys/syscalls.h>"
This generates a loop (the syscalls.h file is taken again from the buildhere directory), and finally an error.

Please advise,

Thanks.

Add nptl to your use flags in make.conf if you haven't done so. Also, as for you glibc problem, I'd suggest emerging the most current stable version instead of a masked version.

My system still glibc-2.3.2-r9 (current stable x86 release).

if you emerge the current stable, you should hack the ebuild and add the following line that fixes an nptl bug.

Code:
epatch ${FILESDIR}/2.3.2/${P}-rtld-assert-fix.patch

I added it to mine right above the following lines:
Code:
        if use_nptl
        then
                epatch ${FILESDIR}/2.3.2/${P}-redhat-nptl-fixes.patch
        else
                epatch ${FILESDIR}/2.3.2/${P}-redhat-linuxthreads-fixes.patch
        fi

If you are trying to use reiser4, you will need the patch mentioned near the end of this thread.
