That is my question. I have been using linux for about 4 years now and aside from a few admins that I work with once and again I have no contact with other linux users. Where does one go to make online friends for chatting and such?

IRC: #gentoo, #fedora, #linux, #debian, etc. depending on the distro.

Other suggestions?

Ehm you've used Linux for 4 years without ever hearing about IRC? I've seen someone describe it as multiplayer notepad...
