Recently, when I went to do an "emerge -vuDp world" on a 2.6.1-mm2 box, it wanted to install i2c and lm_sensors. I did a qpkg -q for both of them and nothing turned up. Where is this dependency coming from? Has anyone else seen this?
I thought that these two ebuilds wouldn't even compile on 2.6.X? _________________ I was born with a freakin' dice bag on my belt.

Check your /var/cache/edb/world file perhaps?
For using lm-sensors with 2.6.x kernels you should unmask >=lm-sensors-2.8.2. They don't require i2c. And by the way, from the lm-sensors website:
# January 10th, 2004 Note to Linux 2.6.1 users. Linux 2.6.1 users will notice that sensors 2.8.2 doesn't work well for them (e.g. problems reading alarms and temperatures) and should get the CVS version of LM Sensors for working libsensors and sensors. For this reason, we plan to release LM Sensors 2.8.3 soon. _________________ Light travels faster than sound. That's why some people appear bright before you hear them speak. |

Yup.. that was the problem. Both i2c and lm_sensors were in my world. I removed them and then just for kicks did a regenworld and it put them back in there. So, I just yanked em again.
Thanks for the helpfull and informative post. _________________ I was born with a freakin' dice bag on my belt.
