I just tried to emerge ntp and when the "make" failed twice, I went back to the earlier version. Same error

Is this a known problem? I can't find anything here in the forums

Happy New Year all

please include the error messages (20+ lines) and the version you try to emerge. also check this bugreport which probably covers your problem.

Checked out the bug report, but I don't think it helps. This is my error message

Are you running recent versions of automake etc? I read something that outdated versions of automake cause some packages to fail.
Code:

emerge autoconf automake m4 ntp

Can you report this as a bug in bugzilla? The ebuild should be updated to require recent versions.
