Even if you've gotten this request before, I'm posting anyway, since it will be informative to know another person wants it:
I *ALWAYS* want to see newest posts first, and I'm tired of going to the bottom of the screen and making the change every time, but I don't see this option in my 'preference' settings. Could this option be added to our preferences? _________________ "If there are back-slashes in your path, you're heading down the wrong path ... backwards." |

mukwuknuk: I'm not understanding what you are asking for. From what i can tell, the newest posts ARE always first. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

Yeah, that is the WAY phpBB2 operates. _________________ Inspiron 4100 & Sun UltraAXe

I think he means that the post inside a thread are ordered in the inverse order that they are by default (there's an combo at the bottom of the thread page) _________________ I am Beta, don't expect correct behaviour from me.

If it's implemented in phpBB, we'll implement it here.

Yes, it's the posts inside the threads that show the oldest first. I'd like our preference settings to allow the newest first, always, without further intervention on subsequent logins. _________________ "If there are back-slashes in your path, you're heading down the wrong path ... backwards." |

Since it isn't availabe on the forums, the most likely answer is no. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

|
|
I assume that phpBB doesn't have a concept of thread "status" that we can use to indicate when a thread about an issue is "solved".
Again I assume that is why the "[SOLVED]" in the title has caught on.
I failed to find (easily) any information in FAQ etc about:
a) that we should even add "[SOLVED]" to the title.
b) how to do it.
I certainly is valuable information to know.
I know I've seen encouragement to do it in members sigs.
I propose that perhaps, if possible, a header/flyer be put at the top of the forum page (or the edit page) with maybe a link on how to do it.
Sure its obvious "once you know", but I can tell you that I had to IM another member to find out
Lastly, I guess searching for the word "solved" won't get too many false positive hits (ie. threads that use the word that aren't really solved).
So I spose its as good as having a status field anyways
cheers |
