With kitchensync you can sync to anything you want.

A konnector is a way to read and send data to a specified device (file etc...).

For example if you select the irmcsync konnector and a localkonnector in which you choose your addressbook file you can sync them.

Hi, for the ones that are interested I've made a CVS ebuild for kdebluetooth.

Now we are in kdeextragear-3!!!

You can find it here:
http://members.xoom.virgilio.it/motaboy/ebuilds/kdebluetooth-cvs-ebuild.tar.bz2

Well, this ebuild seemed to work just fine at the beginning, but since a couple of weeks I'm getting the following errors:

Code:

bash-2.05b# emerge -n kdebluetooth
Calculating dependencies ...done!
>>> emerge (1 of 1) net-wireless/kdebluetooth-99999999 to /
>>> Unpacking source...
 * Fetching CVS module kdeextragear-3/kdebluetooth into /usr/portage/distfiles/cvs-src/kde...
 * Running  cvs -q -f -z4 -d ":pserver:anonymous:@anoncvs.kde.org:/home/kde" login
Logging in to :pserver:anonymous@anoncvs.kde.org:2401/home/kde
Unknown host anoncvs.kde.org.

!!! ERROR: net-wireless/kdebluetooth-99999999 failed.
!!! Function cvs_fetch, Line 323, Exitcode 1
!!! cvs login command failed
bash-2.05b#

Aparently there changes have been made to the CVS which are not reflected in the ebuild, sorry for my ignorance :-)
But I shall be thankfull for any help.

Greetings

The ebuild needs to tell if the bluez stuff is version 2.7 or above for deps on bluez-sdp

not sure if this is a related problem but the ebuild only installs the documentation for me.

Sorry, I haven't much time to correct the configure scripts, but I'll do this in these days.

so is this a problem with the package itself or the ebuild?

I haven't tried well. But it seems that the problem is that now I check for the libsdp but with the latest bluez packages, for some strabge resons the check don't work. So I'm thinking to remove it and to put in the ebuild the need of bluez-libs >= 2.7.

The fact that it'll install only the docs is because the configure don't return an error but only disables the compilation of kde-bluetooth. This is done because we are in kdeextragear and we can't break all the programs.

Bye!

very ugly workaround:

copy kde-bluetooth sources to home dir
extract sources
cd into main dir of sources and ./configure
make && make install
cd into kdebluetooth dir and make && make install

warning: ugly, ugly, ugly
This will not tell portage that its installed these files so it can't remove them.

It was a workaround, just a very ugly one.

It worked fine for me, what way did it fail?

If i do ./configure

Have this :

checking for libsdp 1.0 or better... no
*** Could not run libsdp test program, checking why...
*** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log for the
*** exact error that occurred. This usually means libsdp was incorrectly installed
*** or that you have moved libsdp since it was installed.

and this at the end :
checking if kdebluetooth should be compiled... no

With the option --disable-sdptest it works

No idea for error code 0x21 ???

hi!,

i use your kdebluetooth cvs ebuild with kde from cvs. (gentoo kde cvs ebuilds).

first of all , it mostly works :-) nice work.

here are the problems :
1. i can't use bluetooth:/ and sdp:/ ioslaves with kde cvs kde3.2 is ok. (seems something changed in the ioslaves for 3.3)

2. is it possoble to build the irmc connector for kitchensync without having this ugly kdepim dependency ? for this i have to checkout kdepim manually. could you add it somehow to kitchensync in kdepim ? i know dependency problem.

3. wish : if you receive a file with obex , could you use the standart save as dialog , because its not possible to do things like fish:// that are present in the sidebar of my save as dialog.
and if you save on the desktop a windows pops up , thats not neccessary for the desktop ?

chris.

If you can't send stuff to the pc, look for the value "class" in /etc/bluetooth/hcid.conf, change it from 0x000100 to 0x100100

Code:
# Local device class
class 0x100100;

then restart bluetooth

Please post you wishes on our mailing list or at bugs.kde.org. Or they will be lost, probably like this (I found this with a bit of luky).

Thanks.

Hi, finally I've found the time to correct this issue with bluez-libs-2.7

I've did a new CVS snapshot and a new ebuild. Until they aren't inserted in the portage tree, the bug report is this:

Hi firstly, thank you for the pointer, I had forgotten that i removed the arts flag... that has got my kbthandsfree back fine.

Unfortunately though, kbthandsfree has never ever recognised my Sony Ericsson P800 when it initially scans for devices on startup of kbthandsfree.

If i browse the phone from the kdebluetooth icon, which loads konqueror, i can see the P800 and when I go into it i see the following services...

Obex Object Push
Bluetooth Serial Port
Dialup Networking
Voice Gateway

So please could you kindly explain what i have to do, in order for the voice gateway to be recognised in kbthandsfree?

Thank you kindly!
Rick
