after loosing all my data on the root partition (bad hdparm parameter) i was able to restore all files by reiserfsck and manually moved them from /lost+found. it seems to me that all permissions etc of the files are unchanged.
now, when i try to boot i get this error in the INIT process:
Code: | INIT: version 2.84 booting
Unknown id: /sbin/rc
Unknown id: /sbin/rc
INIT: Entering runlevel: 3
Unknown id: /sbin/rc
INIT: Id "c1" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
INIT: Id "c2" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
INIT: Id "c3" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
INIT: Id "c4" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
INIT: Id "c5" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes |
/etc/inittab says that the ids c1-c5 referr to /sbin/agetty
any idea? google couldn't help

is there really no one to help me? hmm.. any hints? links? whatever
it's because i totally do not have any idea where to start my searches.
maybe there's a tool i can use to check if all files used to proper boot a gentoo-standard-system still exist?
thanks in advance

The same thing happens to me when I boot my diskless node. I think I didn't copy the filesystem right.
Maybe something is missing? _________________ word. |
