Hello guys, I've installed festival 2.4 from layman repository "vaca" but festival doesn't work even for english language. I had to fix a little bit ebuild and install it from local repository but...... it's installed.

Here is the log:

speech-tools installed package is 2.1 version.

I've tried with different festival versions: 2.1 and 2.4

Yeah, I saw this bug but issue I met is a different one. Some commands are working, for instance, I am able to change language in festival. But only (SayText) doesn't work........

I have festival-2.5 installed and working fine here, I must point out however I'm not familiar with SayText command and have never used it. A typical usage for me is

Code: Select all

echo "Some cool thing to say"|festival --tts
in an executable bash file.
To be complete let me point out that I have had to have the following lines in /etc/festival/siteinit.scm on every machine I've ever used it on.

Code: Select all

(provide 'siteinit)
(Parameter.set 'Audio_Command "aplay -q -c 1 -t raw -f s16 -r $SR $FILE")
(Parameter.set 'Audio_Method 'Audio_Command)
Here are the working ebuilds for both festival-2.5 and speech-tools-2.5.
