I was wondering something... I keep hearing about Nvidia Quadro FX cards and the regular Nvidia cards we all know (GeForce FX). I was told that those cards were merely the same but that the first one (Quadro FX) were optimised for OpenGL or something.
Same thing goes for ATI with the Radeon and FireGL cards.
My question is this: can a Quadro (or a FireGL) card do the very same thing as a GeForceFX and Quadro FX but with better efficiency for certain things?
That is to say, can I play games with a Quadro or a FireGL as good as with a Radeon or a FX and peform better when doing DCC? |

AFAIK thay are worst at gaming, even if the chipset is the same (at least for ati). optimization aim at different applications |

That's correct. I've worked with both kinds of cards and even tryed to play on both
Quadro and Fire GL are more for CAD and things like that. But they really performe worst on games.

Just look at the NVidia site. They benchmark Quattros with proe and unigraphics and 3dsmax, not unreal or quake |
