|
|
My gentoo box started acting sporadic...(mouse went crzay in X and I couldn't click on anything), so I killed X and my terminals weren't taking keyboard input correctly...
So decided to reboot (bad MS habit, I know..)
now on bootup I get the error (which stalls the boot):
spurious 8259A interrupt: IRQ7
when the system tries to mount /proc.
Does anyone know what this error means? Or how to fix it?
Thanks in advance.
PS - my box has been up and working for a while so I don't think this is an issue with the install. |

Seems my problem is not the error but that it fails to ever mount /proc
Oh well, I've been thinking of reinstalling anyways...
Thanks for the help. |

Hi Guys,
I've got the same problem, system hangs trying to mount proc at /proc. I've also noticed the odd spurious interrupt 8259A: IRQ7 (occasionally when booting off the LiveCD or Knoppix). Are they related? It started happening to me after an emerge -u world. More details here. Did either of you figure this out? I really don't want to reinstall
