running Pink Blues now, with no obvious problems. My previous issue with ipw2200 is absent now (was ipw2200 included in the kernel source before? I couldn't find it as an option in menuconfig... but if it really was included, it might explain the tons of errors I got when I tried to compile the ipw2200 package. None of them problems now though :))

I had one tiny issue when compiling (which might even pass by unnoticed under gentoo). When building the arch package, abs (the software which builds the package) tried to copy modules to a dir called linux-2.6.12-morph4. I poked around and found out that the generated .config file contains this:

Code: Select all

#
# Automatically generated make config: don't edit
# Linux kernel version: 2.6.12-morph4
# Sat Jul 9 10:35:46 2005
Since I don't where this name is defined (and why abs insists on following it), I just called my package morph4... This is probably not a big issue, but I thought you might want to know it.

Anyway, everything seems to work fine, including swsusp2. I'll report if anything pops up. Thanks again!

unfortunately suspend2 isn't working heren  .. at first it failed to unload uhci and then after i removed "UnloadBlackListedModules yes" from the config the same problem came up as with suspend2.1.9.5 (suspending works but resuming just hangs). I'll report this to suspend2 bugzilla..

@nightfrost: ipw2x00 support was in kernel in the previous version, it got removed in the latest one. Not sure about the .config problem, here it places the modules in the correct place. Also in .config there's -morph5, so I guess the problem is related to abs. Will dig into it though.

@dan2003: suspend2 is not supposed to work on architectures other than x86 yet. The devs are working on this, and it seems support for AMD64 is coming very soon now.

@lamekain: sorry to hear of your problems. But why the problem in unloading uhci? It unloads ok here, and as far as I remember if I didn't unload it then suspend2 did not work.

Oh ok

I look forward to it ;)

Apart from that and trying to figure out nvidia fb, (wot to set in grub.conf) 2.6.12-morph5 seems good here so far :)

Split from http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-255721.html as it was getting too long.
