Ndiswrapper doesn't crash my FF, but it doesn't work...

I installed nspluginwrapper using the ebuild found here: http://gentoo.zugaina.org/ and it worked out of the box like a charm in firefox (no crash at all).
But i want to use it in konqueror too. I suppose it should work.

I searched for plugins going in the configuration dialog and I checked the path and "/opt/netscape/plugins" was listed.
I have mplayerplug-in in that path and it is working.

Any guess?

Why?? You can use a 32bit version of kde-base/nsplugins with konqueror 64. It works much better than nspluginwrapper in firefox 64. I just copied the files from my 32bit chroot along with some required 32 bit libraries, and worked like a charm.

Somebody posted here a tar.gz with the executables and binaries for people without a chroot environment. You can also try the ebuilds in that thread, they use 32 bit binaries from other distros (debian, I think).

Anyway, any of the solutions in that thread works much better than nspluginwrapper.

nspluginwrapper has finally been updated and open-sourced. Anyone up to trying to make an ebuild to complie it from source?

It works as well in Firefox 2 as it does in Firefox 1.5.x

On a side note, Mozilla is really pissing me off with their lousy 64 bit bugs (issues with dynamic pages).

Java has its own 64bit version, you don't need nspluginwrapper for it

Lured by the promise of flash, i emerge nspluginwrapper. Flash does work. YAY! But npviewer.bin which seems to come with the nspluginwrapper territory chews a lot of cpu cycles ~50% for me even when I am not looking at anything flash-enabled. BOO!

Anybody else see this behavior? Or better yet, know what to do to get rid of it?

Yes, I have the same problem. I get rid of it with a simple killall npviewer.bin .. but I guess that's no solution

Did you use any special mojo to make flash work? I tried both 9.0.21.55 and 9.0.21.78 (and nspluginwrapper -i /opt/netscape/plugins/libflashplayer.so, of course). They almost work. I get the GUI stuff, but the videos do not play. At least nspluginwrapper doesn't seem to be crash-happy anymore.

No, nothing special, nspluginwrapper worked directly for me.

This is happening to me as well; everything seems to work fine except videos. Is there someone else with this problem?

When I upgraded nspluginwrapper to 0.9.91.2, my problem went away.

nspluginwrapper

npviewer chews up a lot of cpu cycles
