If someone had time to transform some of those into a nifty icon, that would be awesome :)

yo fir3fly thnx for all your work, you have produced lots of nice icons - keep 'em coming :)

I did notice that in some of your icons you have the image on the wrong layer, the image should go behind the light reflections.

Cheers

Dunno if this counts as offtopic; but is there an easy way to get some kind of "iconbar"? (I'm running fluxbox)
It would be perfect to have a lil' "thing" to click, and a menu with these gorgeous icons appear. :D

Great idea! Thanks for volunteering! ;)

--kurt
seems someone has indeed submitted an e-build so go get it or wait for it to make it into the tree...

The Icon I made for Tkabber (the one with the lightbulb) belongs in IMS.

And IMHO somebody also should edit the contributors at the bottom of the page as at least El Condor, fir3fly and myself are missing, and I bet some other people to. Or just change it to:
The initial design for these icons was provided by port001@w0r.mine.nu. Further additions were made by various artists from the Gentoo community.
So noboy is left out and you don't have to update the contributors frequently.

Should I send my icons to someone or do the person who handle it update from this forum?

Might I humbly add that I did some of them too.
Though I don't _really_ care, it stll would be nice if my name were on the contrib list. Thanks..

Does anyone have a nice icon for Umbrello (uml.sourceforge.net). The stock UML diagram icon is so ugly :? . I would really like to see a nice green/purple 8) umbrella icon. I have tried to draw this myself, but I am not an artist  . If you want I can put up the, really bad, SVG I managed to draw.

Thanks

I was hoping that someone could make a NeverWinter Nights icon - seeing as how the linux client for that game is in beta right now, and should be released sometime this summer (http://nwn.bioware.com). I personally think that an icon of just the eye would look really cool.

I have been making some of these modified clear icons like I made before based on the KDE connectiva crystal and some various other Icon sets. I plan on completing a full kde set that can be used simply through the KDE control center. It will include some games like cs dod and quake3. Just wondering if there would be a place for them on the gentoo icon page in a ta.gz file like the typical KDE sets? I have been keeping the .xcf file with a layer for all the different icons in it and this will be available also. That way someone could easily make there own icons with a different color by just changing the background layer to the color of their choice making the icon layer visible they want and then saving it as a .png file. <br>
Just thought I went through a lot of work no need anyone else having to repeat. BTW I am not taking credit for any of the artwork. The xcf is based on the one on the gentoo page and the icon art is based on connectiva crystal and some others. Here is a screen shot of some of the many icons I am working on.

On the first page there should be links to the source files where
you just replace the 6th layer with the icon...

someone should repoint the old adress to the new adress http://www.gentoo.org/dyn/icons.xml

Again slightly offtopic, but i was wondering if any of you artwhizzies could make me a gentoo gnome splash screen. Something shown when gnome loads.

If I think the splash is good enough i might include it in the gnome ebuilds.

http://art.gnome.org/theme_list.php?cat ... sh_screens for examples.

Very nice! The gnome foot is a bit big imo. By the way, doesn't this request fit better in the GEA thread?

the suggestion to d/l the layer set was great.

then i mentioned that the links at the bottom didnt work.
the links at the bottom of the icons page.

"Users interested in extending the icon set can obtain the original files in Photoshop or GIMP format."

I also like the more defined foot on the second splash screen. ↑
