Otherwise, there's nothing much that can be done here. There aren't too many rebuilds. I recommend using -U instead of -N because -N would rebuild if' there's a new use flag added, for example for a new version of python, which still is not enabled. It'll rebuild even if a disabled use flag gets dropped. On the other hand -U will consider if there really is a need for rebuild.
