Standard question: did you compile things in the right order? I recompiled the whole shebang a few hours ago.

*edit* recompiled ewl, e and e_utils again right now, just to see if I get any errors. Worked like a charm. A couple new menu entries added (emblem and entangle are now linked into the menu).

Yes I went in order, but I will go ahead and do it again just in case I do remember that a few of the libraries were already installed on my system maybe that did it. Also how can I check if I have libraries from a manual install attempt hanging around in my system? I tried it again and still the same error, sigh I got it to work with fc3 but I just thuroughly hosed it a few minutes ago.

Don't want to be too off topic, but I should add I was using XDM/enlightenment before as well.

I tried it again and still the same error, sigh I got it to work with fc3 but I just thuroughly hosed it a few minutes ago.
I had a similar problem to yours and it did indeed turn out to be libraries hanging around from an earlier manual install. I found them in /usr/local/lib. Hope that helps.

alt+tab works but I don't see the window list ...

Post by quarantedeux » Tue Jun 14, 2005 8:18 am

Hi,

I have a problem with the new alt+tab functionality. alt+tab works, but I do not see the window list, only a thin line. Does anybody else have this problem? Does anybody know what I can do to solve this?

best regards

Hi,

I solved the problem by deleting the .e directory with the old configuration in my home directory and now I see the windows list.

best regards

Euphoria. If it braks your comp you're on your own. You have no right to blame anyone for it.

Other than that... have fun :P

Hi guys,

e17 compiles and works fine here (with the exception that some e-apps still crash, like the menu-editor). But I've a question, too. Is there at the moment any chance to change the follow-mouse behaviour? I think it's really annoying that you always have to click the title of a window. I'd like to get a follow-mouse-focus behaviour. Is that possible (at the moment) ?

Thanks for your answers,

Hi,
I emerged e for the first time yesterday. And everything compiled correctly and I had it running. However, I think the build order was not correct since I was not able to get some options which have been enabled recently,- such as the ones mentioned in edevelop :
What everyone seems to be waiting for, key/mouse bindings, are now in E17.....
...... take a look at enlightenment_remote the commands you want to look for are:
* -binding-mouse-list
* -binding-mouse-add
* -binding-mouse-del
* -binding-key-list
* -binding-key-add
* -binding-key-del
So, I read the build order and started rebuilding all the libraries. But the build fails on evas with the following error:

Has anybody encountered the above error?
TIA,

[my guess] It seems, from the error, that the problem is probably in the configure script [/my guess]

Hi everybody and sorry for my banal question about E17: will e17 permit to have a window manager without Xorg/XFree? I've read that evas can replace it...am i wrong?

Thanks a lot

EDIT: Actually I've read that evas can run on directfb also :oops:

Thanks for that tip. Pretty good feelin. But I've still another question, first: What's the difference between SLOPPY and MOUSE? And is there a chance to modify the SLOPPY-behaviour, so that it will raise the window when I click in it similar to the "CLICK"-mouse-behaviour?
