  • Quote

Post by asankaan » Mon Apr 10, 2023 12:09 pm

Hi,

I recently upgraded packages using emerge --ask --verbose --update --deep @world and restarted.
After restart slapd fails to start with error bad configuration file!
No detailed error. Can anyone guide me on recovering this error?

Code: Select all

emerge --info openldap

Plz post

Code: Select all

cat /etc/openldap/slapd.conf
cat /etc/conf.d/slapd
Also run

Code: Select all

emerge -1av openldap
dispatch-conf
and let it use the new config file.Press 'u' when prompted.
It seems the ldapi:/// socket has changed from

Code: Select all

ldapi://%2fvar%2frun%2fopenldap%2fslapd.sock
to
ldapi://%2frun%2fopenldap%2fslapd.sock
Ie it seems to create now the socket under
/run/openldap
and not
/var/run/openldap.
Could it be that?
:)

Hi asankaan,

there was also a change in supported db backends with the switch from 2.4 to 2.6. Have a look at viewtopic-t-1161252-highlight-openldap.html for further details.

Best Regards,
Holger

Thank you for your advice.
Anyway, I switched back to openldap 2.4.59 and now it works fine.
I'll setup a backup server and test the migration.

Thank you for the reply.
Yes, it seems there are many changes in the 2.6 version. I reemerged previous version and solved the issue for the time being.
I'm to setup a backup server and test the setup with 2.6 version.

Thank you!
