ID3 tagging

Since moving from KDE 4.3.something to Xfce I have missed Kid3.

With Kid3 I could copy ID3 tags from one file, and paste these onto another file. Handy, because I often find myself needing to transcode from, say, .flac or .m4a to .mp3 (since my MP3 player doesn't support any other format...)

I can't work out how to do this in Easytag . Am I missing something, or can you recommend me an application that can do this?

It's not a crime to use Kid3 in XFCE . I also use Easytag and it can't what you asked (like GWilliam said). It also seems to be a dead project....

Anyway, maybe PicardTagger which is not in portage unfortunately can help you?

picard tagger is in portage under the name of "picard". but it's pulling in heavy Qt dependencies, and... well I unmerged Qt a while ago now and don't really want to head back.

I'm sorry this isn't more helpful, but I'm pretty sure that Easytag can't copy ID3 tags from one file to another.

You might be better off looking for a solution based on a console tag editor and scripting.
