VNC client that scales remote display down to window size?

The KDE vnc client has a great feature where it can scale the remote display down to fit the size of the VNC window on the vnc client system.

Is there a gnome, or otherwise generic VNC client that does the same thing?

Code: Select all

$ qsearch -S vnc
gives this:

Code: Select all

kde-base/krdc KDE remote desktop connection (RDP and VNC) client
kde-base/krfb VNC-compatible server to share KDE desktops
media-plugins/vdr-ffnetdev VDR Plugin: Output device which offers OSD via VNC and Video as raw mpeg over network
net-libs/gtk-vnc VNC viewer widget for GTK.
net-libs/libvncserver library for creating vnc servers
net-misc/directvnc Very thin VNC client for unix framebuffer systems
net-misc/nxclient X11/VNC/NXServer client (remote desktops over low-bandwidth links)
net-misc/vinagre VNC Client for the GNOME Desktop
net-misc/vino An integrated VNC server for GNOME
net-misc/vncrec VNC session recorder and player
net-misc/vncsnapshot A command-line tool for taking JPEG snapshots of VNC servers
net-misc/xf4vnc VNC (remote desktop viewer) derived from tightvnc but cooler :-)
x11-misc/vnc2swf A tool for recording Flash SWF movies from VNC sessions
x11-misc/x11vnc A VNC server for real X displays
x11-misc/x2vnc Control a remote computer running VNC from X
Vinagre should do what you want.

thanks.. i came across vinagre during one my searches but didn't look at the screenshots and noted that it didn't document scaling in feature list. I'll give it a try.

krdc is the one I have used. It seems to be the best.
Dont make it idiot proof, make it work.
