|
|
Hello and thanks for your help.
Updateing xine-lib gives me many new dependencies, so why? I did emerge -upv to find out that there are many new useflags i never editet in make.conf or are in my profile. and I found out that the IUSE in the xine-lib-1.1.10.1.ebuild has + and - in the IUSE, and 1.1.8 does not. So is the ebuild compelling me what useflags I have to take, and how can I turn this off generally?
| Code: | linux# emerge -upv xine-lib
These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

It's a new portage feature, to enable certain useflags by default. You can still disable them, just like you can disable useflags from your profile. _________________ "Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves." - Abraham Lincoln

but then its a bug, as ufed e.g. believes they are still turned off. either ufed has to scann the whole portage-tree or it will use its reason of existence. _________________ With nice greetings

You could do that. The bug would be something like "ufed doesn't support EAPI=1". _________________ "Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves." - Abraham Lincoln

The developer of ufed hat a pretty harsh way of disacception to consider the new portage-feature in ufed. The -r7 ufed will let you defining the useflags which are not in global profile itself manually without deleding it afterwards. I hope this gets stable after some weeks as some time has yet gone since the changelog and some people will get in the same trouble like me.
In my case ill turn to make.conf only, sounds something as "back to the roots".
Thank you for telling me about this new "feature", but I searched at the developer handbook about the IUSE. Is there a newer one online with this changes? _________________ With nice greetings
