Framebuffer support

I am having some problems enabling framebuffer support in the kernel, it isn't there. I have tried with vanilla, ck, and ac sources and so far no luck. What do you think is going on?

EDIT: Whoops, I had my code maturity settings wrong :)

Huh? Wha? I've never had any problems with the nvidia drivers and bootsplash.

the framebuffer is a patch... it is automaticly applied with the gentoo sources. you can emerge the patch, but i forget what it's called.... anyway, i use the nvidia drivers and framebuffer... no problem at all

nvidia already has its own fbdev in its driver. If you enable frame buffer support with nvidia fbdev from within the kernel it gets nasty. ie: I couldn't switch consoles without having a system freeze.
