Right now it doesn't work and I can't find any setting for this.
And this is the emerge output.

# emerge -Dpv openoffice-bin

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild R ] app-office/openoffice-bin-2.1.0 USE="java kde -gnome" LINGUAS="sv -af -as_IN -be_BY -bg -bs -ca -cs -cy -da -de -el -en -en_GB -en_ZA -es -et -fa -fi -fr -gu_IN -he -hi_IN -hr -hu -it -ja -km -ko -lt -mk -ml_IN -mr_IN -nb -nl -nn -nr -ns -or_IN -pa_IN -pl -pt_BR -ru -rw -sh_YU -sk -sl -sr_CS -st -sw_TZ -ta_IN -te_IN -tg -th -ti_ER -tn -tr -ts -ur_IN -ve -vi -xh -zh_CN -zh_TW -zu" 0 kB

http://lingucomponent.openoffice.org/
(AFAIK, there's not a USE flag or ebuild for this)

I believe the USE flags are for the interface language, for spelling you need to download the relevant dictionary from http://lingucomponent.openoffice.org/do ... onary.html

Have a look in the Gentoo package database for myspell-sv.

Add the following to your /etc/make.conf:

LINGUAS="sv" (+others - en is a good one)

Then emerge hunspell or myspell along with myspell-sv (and others you require).
