Mounting digital camera. Security policy [SOLVED]

Now this is probibly a fairly simple problem id guess.

When i connect my camera it says "A new medium has ben detected. What do you want to do?" and i chose "Open in new window"
And wola .. this turns up
A security policy in place prevents this sender from sending this message to this recipient, see message bus configuration file (rejected message had interface "org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Volume" member "Mount" error name "(unset)" destination "org.freedesktop.Hal")
Now how can i get past this point and automaticly mount my camera when i plug it in?

Kind regards...

not sure this is your issue but make sure your user is added to the plugdev group.
- Failure is not an option. It's bundled with your software.

Thx for that quick reply.
And indeed that was the case.. added user to "plugdev" group and it works like a charm :)

This helped me too :)

Code: Select all

# gpasswd -a <user> plugdev
Remember to relogin and restart the hald (or dbus..don't remember) process ;)
