I do not know, i am so a newbie. I have been trying to install New ubuntu edgy eft, but the live cd is so slow that i cant get it installed. So now i'm trying gentoo.
So, actually, i don't know if i have the X flag, where can i know if i have it or not?
This problem has just happened to myself as well, just after a fresh install of Gentoo 2006.1. I have the X flag set (I can verify that with "emerge --info"); I even made sure by setting it myself in /etc/make.conf.
CompNerd, is this a bug? Your response asks a newbie to use --oneshot, as if there's a problem compiling gtk+.
There is no spoon...
Oh, and it's WINDOWS not Winblowz for those who can't spell
The issue is that cairo can be used as a library for a server. There is no need to build X on a server if you do not use it. When building cairo on a workstation, you should be building cairo with the X useflag. Additionally, you would want support for pdfs, pngs, and svgs on desktops. If the useflags were setup properly before installing, there would be no need to rebuild with --oneshot.
