HP Ipaq not recongized

Help please!

I'm the proud new owner of an HP rx1950 Ipaq PocketPC (though I wish it ran Linux). I also am an avid fan of KDE's latest PIM suite (Kontact, Korganizer, etc.). I'd love be be able to sync between the two, but my first problem to overcome is getting Linux (particularly the kernel) to even recognize the PDA.

When I plug the PDA in, it does come up under the USB devices. In fact, here's the copy of /proc/bus/usb/devices (for the PDA):

T: Bus=01 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=01 Cnt=01 Dev#= 12 Spd=12 MxCh= 0
D: Ver= 2.00 Cls=ef(unk. ) Sub=01 Prot=01 MxPS= 8 #Cfgs= 1
P: Vendor=03f0 ProdID=1c1d Rev= 0.00
S: Manufacturer=HP
S: Product=Generic RNDIS
C:* #Ifs= 2 Cfg#= 1 Atr=c0 MxPwr= 2mA
I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 1 Cls=ef(unk. ) Sub=01 Prot=01 Driver=(none)
E: Ad=81(I) Atr=03(Int.) MxPS= 64 Ivl=1ms
I: If#= 1 Alt= 0 #EPs= 2 Cls=0a(data ) Sub=00 Prot=00 Driver=(none)
E: Ad=82(I) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl=0ms
E: Ad=04(O) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl=0ms

This PDA runs Windows Mobile 5, and I've read some things have changed with the sync process in this new mobile OS. As for drivers, I've tried the ipaq kernel module (under USB serial devices), I've tried the usbnet and rndis_host. In fact, here's a list of modules that are loaded (obviously not all relate the the Ipaq).

usbcore 85120 10 ipaq,pl2303,usbserial,rndis_host,cdc_ether,usbnet,usb_storage,ehci_hcd,uhci_hcd

So, looking at this list, then looking at the output from the usb devices file, why am I getting "Driver=(none)" ???

I'm using kernel version 2.6.17.4. Please help if you can!!!

Mike
