Yes, but only if you use gcc4.

Thanks, this worked. It seems like it all broke when I tried using the updateKDEsvn to update my whole kde svn. I did not have these problems before running that script.

Ill check it out, in the meanwhile, use the 'update' script, its much much better :)

Compiled fine with gcc-4.0.x !

Just dont use 4.1.x for now, thats all, and make sure you upgrade binutils & glibc to latest possible versions as well. Some packages will break, but none related to KDE so far :)

It compiled fine here, too. But I experience some problems running it. artsd is suddenly segfaulting, kdesktop crashes every time I move the mouse over an icon. Pretty annoying :(
I can't tell for sure if it's because of gcc4, or it's the latest code from svn to blame.

Dont run artsd, so cant comment on that, but I dont have much annoyances from KDE ... Only apps giving me some troubles are kontact (kmail plugin crashes when I send mail), amarok (due to known collection builder problem) and kdm (due to fact that I run modular X and imake/xmkmf isnt packaged yet).

You compiled trunk or branches/3.5 ?? Im on 3.5 branch atm.

A workaround for the kmail crash is to disable the gpg plugin as this seems to be the reason for kmail crashing here.

Ok, now I am having another problem with kmail which is a bit more severe.
When I try to add a recipient by writing in the to: line or clicking select kmail crashes.

Does anyone else experience this bug?

Indeed, it was a bad ideea to try the new visibility feature. It turned out to be pretty annoying, so I'm recompiling qt&kde w/o it.

I have noticed some apps are not update by the update script, so I added them but if you should notice that a package isn't updated by the script, let me know and i'll fix it ;-)

I would recommend all the people to use qt stable. I have been using qt-7 ebuild for a long time and I have had a lot of problems.

Examples of this are poppler (stable from portage) not compiling, or krita problems while linking.

Now I have changed to qt-3.3.5 (the portage one) and almost all the problems gone.

So it seems there is a problem with qt-7 ebuild.

Cheers.

If I were you, I would save a copy of qt-7 (with "quickpkg qt") and then try with 3.3.5.

I recompiled qt without visibility support and now kmail works flawless again.
I guess we really should wait until it's more stable for all apps.

I made an ebuild for yakuake 2.5 - 2.6.
you can get it here:
http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.ph ... 6ab9dc652d

I love yakuake, is the best x-terminal I have ever used!

Do the devs have an svn or CVS server? We could add it to the playground like we did with some other apps.
