iwconfig shows this:

Code: Select all

# iwconfig
lo        no wireless extensions.

eth0      no wireless extensions.

sit0      no wireless extensions.
basically I just dont no where to start like even if my wireless card is being detected or not. I was reading the guide for wireless but that assumes that you have the card detected. I installed wpa-suplicant and ndiswrapper already just need to know about getting the card detected. thanks

alright emerged madwifi, and created a file called net.ath0 inwhich i put these settings:

Code: Select all

STARTMODE=onboot
DEVICE=ath0
BOOTPROTO=dhcp
WIRELESS=yes
MODE=managed
ESSID=skynet
CHANNEL=6
and then also added

Code: Select all

iface_ath0="dhcp"
to /etc/conf.d/net

Code: Select all

I was trying to do ifconfig ath0 up but it kept saying that there was no such device so if anyone has ever used madwifi and had any recomendations for what to do i would greatly appreciate it...thanks
