:?: Has anyone got Icewm-tools to work? Keep getting an error when trying to emerge dev-python/PyQt-3.5-r1.

Hi,

Why not just use the regular ebuilds? They are all in x11-misc section...Or do I misunderstand your question..?

regards,

This happens when I am using the ebuilds.

emerge icewm-tools

or some of the other icewm utilities.. seems to die only if PyQt is needed.

Thanks.

After some initial problem with sip (described in the topic PyQt-3.5 errors (related to sip-3.5) in Portage & Programming) I got the same error:
Code:
make[1]: Entering directory `/var/tmp/portage/PyQt-3.5/work/PyQt-x11-gpl-3.5/qt'
g++ -c -pipe -w -O2 -D_REENTRANT -fPIC  -DSIP_MAKE_MODULE_DLL -DQT_NO_DEBUG -DQT_THREAD_SUPPORT -I/usr/qt/3/mkspecs/linux-g++ -I. -I. -I/usr/include/python2.2 -I/usr/qt/3/include -o qthuge.o qthuge.cpp
sipqtQDesktopWidget.cpp: In member function `void
   sipQDateTimeEdit::sipProtect_layoutEditors()':
sipqtQDesktopWidget.cpp:4079: no method `QDateTimeEdit::layoutEditors'
make[1]: *** [qthuge.o] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/PyQt-3.5/work/PyQt-x11-gpl-3.5/qt'
make: *** [sub-qt] Error 2

!!! ERROR: dev-python/PyQt-3.5 failed.
!!! Function src_compile, Line 37, Exitcode 2
!!! (no error message)
The only difference is that I used the 3.5 ebuild (vs 3.5-r1).

Yup, I've got errors just like these, tried both 3.5 and 3.5r1.
It depends on >=x11-libs/qt-3.0.4.1, maybe it doesn't like 3.1?

I am having the same problems that you guys are experiencing above. Did you ever get pyqt to work or is this stil under investigation? I even tried it under Mandrake, no luck either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like qt 3.1.2-r3 has a fix for it, because as soon as emerged it, then kdelibs, my PyQt 3.5 worked fine. Eric still doesn't work though because it complains about not having pyqt version 3.5
