I get this error:
Code:

I've got gentoo kernel patched for bootsplash and i get no compile errors... I've tried to boot wit new kernel and it works (i'be turned on ACPI and adapter 19160 support), but no modules works (I.e. my 3com is compiled as module and it doesn't work... nvdriver doen't too ecc ecc).
So... how can i fix? Sometimes get errors only on i2c modules and sometimes relative to other modules, but always "unresolved symbols"
:?: :?:
Thanks, John

Does the symlink /usr/src/linux point to the source tree of the kernel that you're compiling and using?

Have you done a mv /lib/modules/${yourCurrentKernel} /lib/modules/${yourCurrentKernel}.old? That tripped me up for a while too, and I remember I was getting errors on the I2C section.

ok... i've tried doing what EvilReagan suggest, and i don't get these errors during modules_install:
BUT when i boot new kernel it doesn't find sensors modules and simply any module doesn't works!!! I.e. with new kernel trying to load X with nvdriver lead in a blank screen and the system doen't respond (must reboot), eth0 doesn't work. I don't understand... with lsmod i can see all the modules loaded!! (3c59x & NVdriver...). :?
