Does it occur even if you play the movie in fullscreen from the beginning, and have you tried with another video output driver?

No it occurs only when I run the movie in a normal mode and then switch to fullscreen. Ive tried another drivers, one of them wouldnt let me display fullscreen at all and the other wouldnt work at all. _________________ There is, a not-born, a not-become, a not-made, a not-compounded. I have the same problem, but only in Gnome. In XFCE4 it's fine.
I think it might have something to do with the window manager, but thats just a wild guess. _________________ You will release your mind. |

Anyone has solved this problem?
I'm running gnome and have the same problem. When I start mplayer and switch immediatly to fullscreen it works. But if I switch back to window and then again to fullscreen, the picture jumps out of the screen. _________________ http://www.vim.org |

Same here, works if you close it down and then play the same file
Also if you move the resize the window and then try the full screen it the position changes.
Same as you guy's i'm running Gnome.

Meanwhile, if you alt-enter it, it will be okay, but you cant access the command interface anymore... _________________ To understand recursion, you must first... understand recursion. |

Same problem here, and I use GNOME.
However, it only happens when I start playing in normal mode, move the window around, and then switch to fullscreen. |

I've had a similar problem (only with gmplayer, not mplayer), and found the following workaround:
1) Open any video, move the video window to the center of the screen and close mplayer. Important: The video window mustn't touch the screen edges.
2) Reopen gmplayer, go to Preferences - Misc and disable Save window position
That's it.
I've observed that gmplayer saves the window position incorrectly when closing while the video is in fullscreen mode.
The next time you start gmplayer, the window will appear at the top-left corner of the screen, with any window manager decorations placed outside the visible screen, which in turn seems to be the reason for the video moving off-screen in fullscreen mode. Weird
Thinking of it, that's not really incorrect: In fullscreen mode, the top left corner of the video is at 0,0 |

Perhaps someone with a little know how in the community could file a bug report? _________________ BitWise Chat |
