Mechwarrior 2 for DOS in Linux!!!!!!

Believe it or not I am able to run mechwarrior 2, the original old school DOS version, in my gentoo. I use dosbox the amazing dos emulator to do this.

I've used linux for about 6 years and gentoo for almost 1. But only within the past week or so have I completely dropped windows. I have an XP install and I have steam in it, but I just haven't had the urge to play. And now I DEFINITELY wont have the urge to play.

I don't know if I could be more happy.......

Is the DOS version the same as the windows version? (Or am I thinking of a completely different Mechwarrior game, and there is no windows version?)

there was a windows version, it was all 3dfx and such. It didn't come out until way after the DOS version though. I believe this all went down in 1995 when it was pc gamer's game of the year. Here is the only official site remaining for it
