Hey guys. I just upgraded my MythTV from .14 to .15 following he guide in the forums. At the step where you run mythfilldatabase, I keep getting these errors:

What is weird is that I am configured to use DataDirect, which I have an account for and I had used before in .14. My username and password worked then, and it works on their site now, but it doesn't work with mythfilldatabase.
I thought I would try to configure the url to the DataDirect service to include http://user:password@url/, but I can't find which file the url is in. Any ideas? _________________ Your sig is better than my sig.

I asked them, but no good answers yet. Perhaps there is some use flag that needs to be set for compile? Fozzy, what are your use flags set to? _________________ Your sig is better than my sig.

I upgraded a while ago from mythtv CVS...
It seems that for North America anyways that they have switched serivces for getting the listings... Its now ZapIt or something like that.. You will have to sign up for an account, but its free.. You will have to renew the account occasionally by filling out surveys..
see here.

Yes, well I'm having the same problem. Still... I have upgraded to zap2it, doing the sign on and everything. But when I run mythfilldatabase I get:
--21:37:44-- http://datadirect.webservices.zap2it.com/tvlistings/xtvdService
=> `-'
Resolving datadirect.webservices.zap2it.com... 206.18.98.160

Connecting to datadirect.webservices.zap2it.com[206.18.98.160]:80... connected.
HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 401 Unauthorized
Authorization failed.
a bunch of times. When I run tv_grab_na_dd I see all the xml data fly by (after a bit of a wait). When I go to the url that mythfilldatabase prints I get a login box, but apparently it doesn't like my login/password on THAT URL even though it works fine when I start at labs.zap2it.com and login there. I even created a new login on zap2it, same thing. _________________ AMD Athlon 2000+ VIA KT333

Already done that. I migrated to DataDirect with .14, so the same information should work in .15, but it doesn't. _________________ Your sig is better than my sig.

found the problem... Go back into mythsetup, look in video source setup, and add your login/password in the xml tv listings grabber boxes. I thought it was picking up my login/password from $HOME/.xmltv/tv_grab_na_dd.conf. _________________ AMD Athlon 2000+ VIA KT333

i think vts may be right. I didn't upgarde to datadirect until this version, cause i never used .14. I think the place where the login, etc. is stored may be different between .14 and .15. _________________ i'm lost...help me.... |

I also didn't upgrade to DataDirect until this version of MythTV (when I noticed the old xmltv stuff wasn't working this weekend). I don't remember setting up a login/password for the old xmltv stuff, but it's been a LONG time since I did it. _________________ AMD Athlon 2000+ VIA KT333

No good. I have set the login and password in mythsetup and when I click 'Retrieve Lineups' I get the same errors on the console and nothing happens. Mythfilldatabase is still failing too. _________________ Your sig is better than my sig.

Something else. The mythfilldatabase_dd file I created for using DataDirect with .14 still works, mostly. It connects to DataDirect, downloads the info successfully, writes it to a file, but when it then attempts to use that file with mythfilldatabase it notices I am using .15 and stops. _________________ Your sig is better than my sig.

I think it would help if everyone posts to the users list here to let them know this is not just me that is having this problem. I believe they think I am crazy. The subject for the thread is:

I had .14 working fine, and everything in .15 is working except the channels. After I fix this DataDirect problem my database will get channels from Zap2it and everything should be fine. _________________ Your sig is better than my sig.

Working fine, I just checked and stuff I had scheduled to tape last night are there. I did go through mythsetup and have it clear out everything. Just looked to see exact version of myth* and saw something a bit weird:
* media-tv/mythtv

mythfrontend IS installed and working fine, I just now noticed emerge shows it not installed????
Here is the info you asked for:
/etc/make.conf:USE="tif mmx mysql cdr dga dvd gphoto2 mozilla -directfb -quicktime scanner tcltk gnutella gtk2"
CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu"
And the output from mythfilldatabase:

Mthfrontend is a virtual package to basically build mythtv without the backend. It uses the same files as the normal mythtv package. When you build mythtv, it builds mythbackend and mythfrontend using the mythtv.tar.gz. Mythfrontend just builds mythfrontend, not mythbackend using the same mythv.tar.gz.
What about your CFLAGS? I think I may have found a bug in an athlon compile flag, but I am not sure. _________________ Your sig is better than my sig.

My CFLAGS are commented out of make.conf!?!?! Wonder how long they've been like that. I used to have them set for my Athlon XP proc, but now it's using the defaults. _________________ AMD Athlon 2000+ VIA KT333

upgraded to .15 and cannot get datadirect to behave. Same symptoms as above.
I've tried wget 1.9-r2 and 1.9.1-r2 and neither of them seem to understand the headers datadirect's webservice is returning. I did some tethereal sniffing just to make sure the basic auth headers were getting sent... they are.
The first web transaction, wget is posting the http basic auth headers, gets a 401 status with a WWWAuthenticate header.
The second transaction, wget posts again, this time completely without an auth header. This one, of course, gets a 401 as well.
Perhaps something we can put in a .wgetrc or something that will honor the header datadirect sends back??? |

I've got a thread open with Zap2It's tech support, but not much help.
I'm running a PVR 350 on a PII/266 (and it works!) using ivtv's framebuffer for X.
for the record . . .
CFLAGS="-O2 -march=i686 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer"
CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu"
USE="lirc -arts -cups -foomaticdb -gtk2 -imlib -gnome -libg++ -mikmod \
-motif -nls -opengl -pdflib -quicktime -spell -xmms -ssl -gtk"
