Im conected no the network and everything is fine exept for this thing, i have the wireless-tools package instaled. What im doing wrong?

Make sure you have enabled the wireless device setting in the kernel under networking device -> WIreless LAN.
Also make sure you have emerged net-wireless/wireless-tools. After these iwconfig should show the cisco card as a wireless device (probably eth0 or eth1) |

creese is right on. I was having the same trouble, because I had just upgraded my kernel. I use linux-wlan-ng, not the kernel's wireless drivers, but I still needed to include Wireless LAN in my kernel.
At least wavemon works again, and kwifimanager works better than kwavecontrol for my card (prism2_pci). |
